the history of New York

Giovanni da Verrazano, an Italian-born navigator sailing for France, discovered New York Bay in 1524. Henry Hudson, an Englishman employed by the Dutch, reached the bay and sailed up the river now bearing his name in 1609, the same year that northern New York was explored and claimed for France by Samuel de Champlain.



In 1624 the first permanent Dutch settlement was established at Fort Orange (now Albany). One year later Peter Minuit purchased Manhattan Island from the Indians for trinkets worth about 60 Dutch guilders and founded the Dutch colony of New Amsterdam (now New York City), which was surrendered to the English in 1664.

New York's extremely rapid commercial growth may be partly attributed to Gov. De Witt Clinton, who pushed through the construction of the Erie Canal (Buffalo to Albany), which was opened in 1825. Today, the 641-mile Gov. Thomas E. Dewey Thruway connects New York City with Buffalo and with Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania express highways. Two toll-free superhighways, the Adirondack Northway (linking Albany with the Canadian border) and the North-South Expressway (crossing central New York from the Pennsylvania border to the Thousand Islands), have been opened.

اود ان اكتب تعلقيي على ما شاهدت... وهو : كلنا يعرف بأن السياسه بشعه وقد تضر الا فعل اشياء يرفضها مبداك .. ولكن الساسيه تحكم السياسيين وليس هم ... ولكن ذكائهم يكون في كيفية تسيير السياسه لصالحهم .. وهنا لا اطرح هذا الفلم لتشويه صورة احد ولكن اطرحها لنستفيد كلنا من تجارب سياسيه وحلول ونتائج ظاهره لنا ... اقف احتراما للذكاء مهما كان صاحبه ..

رأى "الناشط" الليبرالي السعودي رائف بدوي أن على "محكمة العدل الدولية" ان تتدخل في المملكة العربية السعودية لوقف تجاوزات إحدى جهاتها الحكومية.وقال بدوي في لقاء أجرته معه شبكة "سي ان ان" الأمريكية أمس أن الرئاسة العامة لهيئة الأمر بالمعروف والنهي المنكر أقيمت من اجل أمر واحد هو "قمع الشعب السعودي"، ورأى بضرورة تقديم رئيسها الشيخ إبراهيم الغيث إلى محكمة العدل الدولية بصفته مسؤولا عن جرائم ضد الإنسانية.وشن بدوي، خلال البرنامج الذي خصصته القناة للحديث عن الهيئة، هجوما قويا على أفرادها ، وقال ان "اغلبهم من أصحاب السوابق الأخلاقية".على صعيد آخر، قلل بدوي من أهمية تصريح سماحة مفتي عام المملكة الشيخ عبد العزيز آل الشيخ بخصوص موقعه الإلكتروني ( الليبراليون السعوديون ).ويعيش بدوي الآن في العاصمة البريطانية لندن، وذلك بعد تقديمه للقضاء في بتهمة إساءة موقعه الإلكتروني لعلماء مسلمين كمفتي المملكة.يذكر أن عدداً من القنوات الغربية قد أنتجت خلال الأشهر الماضية برامج وثائقية عن الهيئة, معتمدة في مصادرها على بعض السعوديين الذين قدموا لها معلومات يرى الكثير من السعوديين انها غير صحيحة، وتعكس صورة سيئة عند المشاهد الغربي، والذي بالتالي يبلور فكرة خاطئة عن المملكة حكومة وشعبا.

ثار وخذله الكثير وقالوا عنه مجنون بعد ان انتصر في احد المعارك وقال لهم ان سيستمر حتى يغزوهم في عقر دارهم .. هنا اورد لكم خطبته للجيش الاسكتلندي في اول معركة لهم مع البريطان بوجوده ... حين اتى وكان في قيادة الاسكتلنديين نبلاء خونه همهم ليس الحريه بل هي الدنيا واموالها ...
اتى وكان الجيش على وشك الانسحاب وهو يرى الضجر والرفض في عيون الاسكتلنديين ان يحاربوا لزيادة اموال هؤلاء الخونه ...

عندها قال في ميدان القتال :بدأها معرفا بنفسه :
